In a detailed meeting today, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Anantnag, SF. Hamid, took charge of reviewing the arrangements for the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival in the district. The DC has directed various departments to make sure that all necessary preparations are in place for the community to celebrate the festival without any hindrances.
During the meeting, the DC emphasized the importance of ensuring the availability of essential commodities for the festivities. He ordered the provision of a wide range of items including fish, vegetables like Lotus Stems (Nadroo) and spinach, as well as walnut, cheese, LPG cylinders, K-oil, rice, sugar, and flour.
SF. Hamid particularly highlighted the need for continuous water and electricity supply in areas predominantly resided by the Pandit community to elevate their festival experience.The Fisheries Department was asked to arrange fish-carrying mobile vans specifically in the Pandit community areas.
Additionally, the Floriculture Department is to ensure that flowers are abundantly available at significant locations for the festival.Moreover, the Municipality and Rural Development Department have been charged with organizing cleanliness drives around temples to accommodate the expected large gatherings.
The Food Safety department is set to conduct market inspections to guarantee the quality and safety of food items during the festival period.The Executive Engineer of the Power Development Department has been tasked to guarantee an uninterrupted electricity supply, while the Jal Shakti department must ensure there are adequate drinking water facilities available at all festival venues to facilitate devotees.
DC Hamid expressed optimism that these arrangements would lead to a joyous and seamless Maha Shivratri celebration for the community. The coordination meeting saw attendance from all sectoral heads, highlighting the collective effort towards a successful festival.
