BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha President Jai Inder Kaur today held a massive protest along with ladies of Patiala against the Aam Aadmi Party led Punjab Government over it's failure to fulfill it's promise of guaranteed 1000Rs per month to the women of Punjab. During a protest held at Patiala's Fountain Chowk Jai Inder Kaur also demanded the Punjab government to immediately restore over 10 Lakh ration cards that were earlier cancelled by the government.

Addressing the huge gathering Jai Inder Kaur said, "The Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann gave a guarantee to the People of Punjab before the Vidhan Sabha elections that once elected they will give Rs 1000 per month to every women above 18 in the state. But now it's been over 18 months and there is no sign of the government fulfilling one of its major poll promises."

She further said, "There is a growing resentment among the women as they feel completely cheated by the government against their non implementation of the commitment by the AAP government. It is our due right which was promised to us by the government and if the Punjab government fails to fulfill this guarantee then we will hold even bigger protests against them all over the Punjab."

She further said, "Rs 1000 per month to every woman was an important guarantee due to which people of Punjab voted for the AAP government and now it's the need of the hour that they honour that promise and immediately start giving the compensation to our women, otherwise the people of Punjab will teach them a hard lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls."

The BJP Mahila Morcha President also raised the issue of Smart Ration Cards saying, "Cutting of Smart Ration Cards of poor families was another deplorable step of Bhagwant Mann government. Around 10.77 Lakh smart ration cards were cancelled by this goverment without any sane reason or logic. After facing protests over it, the Punjab government had last week said that they are restoring these cards, but till date no such order has been passed."

She continued, "These families belong to the very poor Strata of society and they have been deprived of food relief being given in the form of Atta, Dal as per the scheme of the Centre/State Government free of cost. We demand that the Punjab government immediately restores these ration cards."
