In a coordinated effort, the Punjab Police's Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), collaborating with Central agencies, successfully apprehended a significant operative linked to the Pakistan-based terrorist Harvinder Singh, alias Rinda, and the US-based Harpreet Singh, alias Happy Passia. The arrest of Kailash Khichan took place in Rajasthan, as confirmed by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav on Friday.
Kailash Khichan was a wanted individual in a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in Fazilka in September 2023. He has a criminal history, with multiple cases related to extortion, the NDPS Act, and the Arms Act filed against him in both Punjab and Rajasthan.
DGP Yadav explained that the Anti-Gangster Task Force, led by ADGP Promod Ban and supervised by AIG Sandeep Goel, along with DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar, successfully tracked Khichan's location in Rajasthan. The arrest was executed in Lohawat village, Phalodi district.
The police teams discovered a .30 caliber Chinese pistol along with eight cartridges in Khichan's possession during the arrest. According to preliminary investigations, Khichan, acting on the directives of terrorist Rinda, was involved in supplying weapons to associates of the terrorist outfit Babbar Khalistan International (BKI) for criminal activities within the state. AIG Goel added that further arrests are anticipated in connection with this operation.
