As per the recent reports, Google is planning to lay off around 30,000 employees in upcoming months. The plan is meant to reconstruct the design of its Ad Sales unit, which is going to convert into fully AI based. Which means there is no need to require any human support.Google intends to use AI internally, which might perhaps result in the thing that most people feared: AI replacing humans in the workforce.
In a meeting, Sean Downey, the US head of ad sales for key customers, allegedly disclosed that Google intends to reorganise its ad sales force. However, he made no mention of layoffs.
According to the paper, AI is expected to undergo a substantial operational change that might result in job losses. The ad sales team will be the most affected by the reorganisation, as Google has been investigating the advantages of using AI to improve operational efficiency.

At the beginning of 2023, Google had let go of 12,000 employees. Google CEO Sundar Pichai said, "This has been a challenging time for any organisation," in reference to these layoffs. We haven't had a situation like this at Google in 25 years.
