The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Shopian, Dr. Nasir Ahmed Lone today presided over a Block Diwas programme at Government High School, Chitragam Kalan Shopian. During the Block Diwas, local residents apprised the ADDC of various issues of public importance related to water, power, sanitation, traffic and other issues in their areas.

The ADDC patiently listened to all the issues and demands put forth by the locals and directed the concerned officers to redress the genuine grievances in a time bound manner. Earlier, the ADDC sought feedback from all the line departments to review their performance of developmental activities.

ADDC said that the purpose of organising such programmes is to reach out to the people at their doorsteps and listen to their genuine issues for redressal. He further added that no stone should be left unturned to meet the expectations of the public and fulfill their genuine issues within a time bound manner.

Speaking on the occasion, Sub- Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Zainapora, Mushtaq Ahmed said conducting today's grievance redressal camp is to also make people aware about the Government Schemes so that they are able to avail the benefits of various schemes meant for overall well being of the general masses. Among others, BDO Chitragam, Officers from line departments and people in large numbers were present on the occasion.
