ADC Flags Off Digital Mobile Vans To Spread Awareness Among Voters Across All 14 Assembly Constituencies

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana-cum-District Election Officer Surabhi Malik,  Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagraon Major Amit Sareen today flagged off digital mobile vans to spread awareness among voters here at the District Administrative Complex. Interacting with the media on this occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner said that India is one of the largest democracies in the world. 

He further stated that people will be made aware about their right to vote through these vans.  Besides, the citizens who have not enrolled themselves as voters, will get detailed information about becoming voters. These vans are equipped with EVM, VVPAT, LED systems and these will cover several places including schools, colleges and residential societies, he said, adding that people can also cast demo votes at these vans while other significant information with respect to voting procedure will also be displayed at LED screens. 

People can also contact voters' helpline number 1950 for more information and assistance about votes. The ADC said that as per directions from Chief Electoral Officer Punjab the digital mobile vans will remain active in the district between December 24 and January 2, 2024 and cover all 14 assembly constituencies. 

In Ludhiana West assembly constituency, the van will cover several locations today including Mini Secretariat, Ludhiana, Ferozepur Road, Punjab Agricultural University, Ghumar Mandi, Haibowal Kalan, Rishi Nagar, Kitchlu Nagar, Tagore Nagar, Haibowal Khurd, Dairy Complex, Hambran Road Ludhiana. Likewise in Gill Assembly Constituency the can will cover areas including Pratap Singh Wala, Balloke, Jassian, Bhattian and Bahadurke wherein  citizens will be informed and educated about the importance of right to vote.

On December 25, mobile van will cover areas falling under Ludhiana South Assembly Constituency including Sherpur, Giaspura, Lohara, New Shimlapuri, followed by areas of Atam Nagar Assembly Constituency including Bus Stand, Preet Palace, Gill Chowk, Pratap Chowk, Gill Canal, Sua Road Dugri, Dugri Chowk, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Model Town Chowk, and Bus Stand.

On December 26, the van will cover areas falling in Ludhiana Central and North Constituencies including Jagraon Bridge to Field Ganj, Civil Hospital, Kidwai Nagar to Samrala Chowk, Basti Jodhewal to Daresi, Chaura Bazar and Jagraon Bridge, Jagraon Bridge to Fountain Chowk, Kailash Chowk, Mai Harkrishna Dharamshala, Kundanpuri, Damoria Bridge, Petrol Pump, Arya School, Chawni Mohalla and Salem Tabri.

On December 27, this van will visit areas of Sahnewal and Ludhiana East constituencies including GSSS  Mundian Kalan to Mai Bhago College Ramgarh, Main Chowk Kohara to Main Chowk Sahnewal, BahadurKe Road, Noorwala Road, Kakowal Road, Basti Chowk, Rahon Road, Tibba Road, Tajpur  Road, Samrala Chowk, Sector-32 PUDA Ground, Sector-39 Round Market.

On December 28 to January 2, the vans will cover areas falling under Dakha, Raikot, Jagraon, Payal, Khanna, and Samrala Constituencies respectively including Baddowal, Hassanpur, Bhanohar, Mullanpur, Khanjarwal, Sowaddi Kalan, Gurre, Chowkiman, Kular, Dhatt, Boparai, Jangpur, Mohi, Sarabha, Gujjarwal, Phallewal, Latala, Chhapar, Dhurkot, Ghungrana, Hissowal, Sudhar, Akalgarh, Halwara, Nurpura, Raikot, Bassian, Shahjahanpur, Nathowal, Dhurkot, Boparai Khurd, Kalas, Daddahur, Jalaldiwal, Jagraon-Kamalpura-Lamma, Lakha, Manunke, Chakar, Mallah, Kaunke Kalan, Amargarh Kaler, Ghalib Kalan, Sherpur Kalan, Leelan, Ramgarh Bhullar, Sowaddi Khurd, Bodalwala, Jagraon, Malud, Sihaura, Dhamot, Payal, Kaddon, Doraha, Khanna to Samrala Chowk Khanna, Bus Stand Khanna, Court Complex, GTB Market Khanna, Malerkotla Chowk Khanna, and on January 2 I.e. the last day of this campaign, the van will cover areas under Samrala Assembly Constituency including PUDA Market,   Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Samrala, Main Chowk Machiwara, Charan Kamal Chowk Machiwara, and Canal Garhi Tarkhana will be covered.
