Punjab Engineering College, (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh is organizing an AICTE recognized one week STC on ‘Learner Centered Teaching Methodology’ in collaboration with NITTTR, Chandigarh during 18th  to 23rd  December, 2023. The inauguration ceremony was held on Tuesday, 19th December, 2023. 

Chief Guest of the event Shri Prateek Kishor ji graced the occasion with his auspicious presence along with Prof. Bhola Ram Gurjar, Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh; Prof. Baldev Setia, Director, PEC; Prof. Sunit Dutt, Course Chairman, NITTTR and Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Course Coordinator, NITTTR. The event started out with lamp lighting by the dignitaries. Prof. Vasundhara Singh, (Dean Faculty Affairs), who is the course chairperson of this STC program along with Dr. Nidhi Tanwar and Dr. Shimi S.L, coordinated the whole event.

Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Course Coordinator, NITTTR, Chandigarh, briefed about the learning environment, which a teacher can create for its students. The way of sharing and delivering the information to students. She also stated that, ''student is the centre part of the teacher, whom they are going to address, and we have to choose the best possible method for the students.''

Prof. Vasundhara Singh (DFA), explained the glorious journey of PEC from Lahore to Chandigarh. She also briefed about the best practices conducted at PEC. Its faculty, students, courses, programs, activities, everything. She also felt honored to be a part of the PEC Family.

Prof. Sunil Dutt, Course Chairman, NITTTR, briefed about NITTTR, Chandigarh. He encapsulated the best activities conducted at the institution. He also said that this one week STC will solidify the relations between PEC and NITTTR, Chandigarh.

Director of Punjab Engineering College, Prof. Baldev Setia, expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee and NITTTR, Chandigarh for conducting this one week Training Program for Teachers. He said that it is an opportunity to sit in the classroom once again. To get training from experts in the field of teaching. 

While concluding, he also asked for such a training approach for all the faculty members along with the newly recruited ones. Furthermore, Prof. Bhola Ram Gurjar, Director, NITTTR, shared some experiences from his student life. He explained the need for such training sessions. 

With the fast moving technology, teachers need to be up-to-date. He thanked Prof. Baldev Setia for organizing this STC program in collaboration with NITTTR, Chandigarh.Chief Guest of the Event, Shree Prateek Kishor, Director TBRL, said that, this is the era of transformation explosion. We have to re-look at the way of engaging with students. 

Faculty needs to be agile with technological changes. He stated that. ''Transformation from a classroom engineer to a field engineer is in the hands of the teachers''.Lastly, Dr. Shimi S.L. along with Dr. Nidhi Tanwar, provided a vote of thanks to all the guests and participants. The event ended on a high note.
