The Department of Social Welfare, Udhampur, on Thursday organized a sensitization program on "Nasha Mukht Bharat,"  "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)," and other  women-centric schemes here in Middle School Baasani in Block Tikri. The event aimed to address the issue of drug abuse, especially among the youth, under the guidance of District Social Welfare Officer Kanika Gupta.

BDC Chairman, Tikri, Nisha Sharma, urged participants to actively contribute towards 'Nasha Mukht Bharat' and play a pivotal role in eliminating drug abuse from society. District Mission Coordinator, Jyoti Pathania, DHEW, emphasized the program's objective to raise awareness about the destructive impact of drugs, encourage positive actions among youth, and promote the slogan "Say No To Drugs" under "Nasha Mukht Bharat."

Gender specialist Sheetal, DHEW, enlightened participants about women-centric schemes and BBBP, advocating for the protection and promotion of the girl child. The focus was on improving child sex ratios, engaging communities, and challenging age-old biases against girls. DHEW and OSC staff also urged parents to empower girls through education.
