The Gujjar & Bakerwal Boys Hostel Kupwara today organized a colourful function within the premises of the Hostel to celebrate ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’. Chairman, DDC Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Pandipori was chief guest on the occasion.

Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; CEO Kupwara, Abdul Hamid; DTO, Mohammad Shafi; DDC Members of Kalaroose/ Hyhama/ Drugmulla/ Rajwar, besides, parents and students attended the function.

The ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Divas’ is being observed to mark the birth anniversary of iconic tribal leader Birsa Munda who fearlessly worked for the freedom of India.Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman DDC Kupwara appreciated the management of the G&B Hostel for providing better facilities to the students in getting quality education. He expressed his good wishes to the students for their brighter future.

The Vice Chairman also spoke and highlighted the importance of celebration of ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ and mentioned names of different personalities from the Tribal community who played their role in the development of the country especially J&K. He appreciated the students of the Hostel for their vibrant presentation of different cultural programmes.

ADC Kupwara, CEO, DTO and DDC Members also spoke and shared their views with the participants on the occasion.Later, Warden G&B Hostel, Nissar Ahmad presented a vote of thanks.Meanwhile, students from different clubs of the G&B Hostel presented different folk and Punjabi songs and cultural programmes and enthralled the participants.
