District Administration Ramban today organized a grand cultural event to celebrate the Jammu and Kashmir, Union Territory (UT) Foundation Day and National Unity Day with Great Spirit and patriotic fever at the conference hall of the District Administrative Complex, Ramban.

Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam presided over the various events organized by the Education, Information, Municipal Council,   Ramban and various other departments on the occasion. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal Sharma, Dy DEO Lal Chand, ACD Ashok Singh, DSEO Ganesh Kumar, MC Councilors, CEO Devanand, CEO MC Sudershan Kumar and various District and Sectoral officers, besides students were present on the occasion.  

Speaking on the Occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the day holds immense historical significance as Jammu and Kashmir transitioned to Union Territory status on October 31, 2019, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the revered national Leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The UT Foundation Day was observed with great enthusiasm and pride throughout the district.

The Deputy Commissioner also encouraged the students to contribute to the development and integrity of the country. He also commended the district officers and officials for their outstanding efforts in advancing development projects across the district.

Earlier the festivities commenced with a pledge ceremony, led by the Deputy Commissioner, emphasizing the values of unity and integration. The Department of Information and Public Relations, Ramban also screened two enthralling videos showcasing the development and highlighted the comprehensive progress achieved in the UT over the past four years.

A colourful cultural bonanza was also presented by the Information Department and students of various schools which enthralled the audience.  The MC Ramban also organized a selfie taking event as part of UT Foundation Day celebrations. Plantation and sanitation drives were also organised by the various departments in their offices and surrounding areas.
