To generate interest of the youth in Digital Technology, a State Level digital-Ignition Contest is being organized by the department of Digital Technology and governance from 1st November to 10th November, 2023 from class 6th onwards up till college level for the students of both Government and private schools.

While disclosing this Secretary, Digital Technologies and Governance, Dr. Abhishek Jain said that Chief Secretary, Prabodh Saxena launched this initiative here today and the competitions would start from 1st November.

Dr. Abhishek Jain said that the development of technology has brought many innovative and positive changes across the world. The use of information technology in education has also boosted the ability and efficiency of the students, he added.

He said that youth were full of creative ideas and efforts were being made to make the creativity of the youth a partner in the progress and development of the state. This contest will be organized from 1st November to 10th November, 2023.

To participate in the contest, students of class VI to VIII will have to prepare a PPT on 'Use of Digital Technologies for Prosperous Himachal Pradesh'. A quiz session on 'Use of Artificial Intelligence for Governance, Digital Literacy and Cyber security' for students of classes 9th to 12th and students of college level (above class 12th class) has to prepare a concept note on 'How to use Artificial Intelligence in Governance'.

He said that Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu would distribute the prizes to the winners on the occasion of Children's Day. The first winner of each category will be given a prize of rupees one lakh, the first runner-up Rs. 60 thousand and the second runner-up will be given Rs. 40 thousand.

He called upon the youth of the state to participate in this contest in maximum numbers. Students willing to participate in this contest will have to submit their entries on http://contest.hp.gov.in  Interested youth can contact on telephone number 0177-2628914 for more information on any working day from 10 am to 5 pm.
