In the 37th National Games held at GOA from October 23rd to October 28th 2023 , Punjab Men Basketball Team emerged champion to win Gold by beating Tamil Nadu in the final Match 105-103. This format of game was 5x5 players.  There is extreme joy in the Punjab Basketball fraternity. 

The players and coaches of the team have been congratulated by the senior executives of PBA viz , President R S Gill DGP Retd., Yurinder Singh Hayer Sr VP, Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar VP, J P Singh VP,  Parminder S Bhandal VP, Parminder Singh Heer SP- Jt Sec  and Intl player,  Gurjit Singh Romana SP, Sumesh Chaddha, Treasurer and Vijay Chopra besides many others. The Punjab team which won bronze in the 3x3 category was also congratulated by them. 

Teja Singh Dhaliwal Gen Sec known as LohPursh of PBA told that it was the untiring efforts of months of hard work of coaches Rajinder Singh of Ludhiana Basketball Academy and Gurkirpal Singh Dhillon of PPA that players were groomed to play a spirited and coordinated game. Parminder Singh Heer who also accompanied the team said that the Punjab team played a superb game  and gave an outstanding performance and handled the final match very well. 

Arjuna Awardee Sajjan Singh Cheema also congratulated the teams. The executives of Ludhiana Basketball Association Arshpreet Singh Mundi ,Avinsih Manu, Brij B.Goyal and Richu Sharma say they will be giving a befitting welcome to players at Ludhiana when the teams arrive from Goa. All eyes are set on Punjab now when at 73rd Nationals at Ludhiana , Punjab again will try to win gold in the Seniors Men Championships this December.
