The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ganderbal today conducted the 2nd Under Trial Review Committee (UTRC) meeting.The meeting was held at District Court, Ganderbal under the chairmanship of Pr. District & Sessions Judge/ Chairman District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal,  Ritesh Kumar Dubey and was conducted in strict adherence to the directives issued by the National Legal Services Authority (NLSA) and J&K Legal Services Authority (J&K LSA).

The UTRC meeting aimed to review and analyze the status of under trial cases within the jurisdiction of Ganderbal.The 2nd UTRC meeting witnessed the presence of  Civil Judge (Sr. Division)/ Secretary, DLSA Ganderbal, Nusrat Ali Hakak; Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal,  Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Additional Superintendent Police, Aijaz Ahmad Malik; Chief Prosecuting Officer, Shafat Ahmad; Senior Prosecuting Officer, DPO Ganderbal, Abdul Aziz and Incharge Officer Subsidiary Jail Dignibal.

The committee took status of the cases already recommended to be considered for release in the first UTRC meeting and deliberated on various issues related to under trial cases, such as case pendency, legal aid, bail, and other relevant matters.The discussions focused on formulating effective strategies to streamline the legal system and facilitate the timely resolution of pending cases.Chairman DLSA Ganderbal emphasized the importance of UTRCs for ensuring fair and swift justice to eliminate the hardships faced by under trial prisoners.

As part of this substantial initiative, DLSA Ganderbal will keep holding regular UTRC meetings, analysing cases, and taking the necessary steps to speed up the legal processes for qualified convicts awaiting trial.It is anticipated that the persistent efforts of all parties concerned will lead to a more equitable and effective judicial system.
