Rural Development Department, Ramban, on Thursday organised a series of activities dedicated towards maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of residential areas, Government offices, Public places, Schools, Health Institutions, markets, streets and its surrounding areas in block Khari under Aspirational Block Programme (ABP).   

On 3rd day of Sankalp Saptaah, students from different schools including Government High School, Khari, Government Middle School, Mandakbas,  Government Middle School, Nachlana etc participated in the cleanliness drives carried out in their schools and Khari Market besides participating in the awareness rallies organized by the RDD in collaboration with Education Department.

Sensitizing the people about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygienic conditions in our homes, working places and its surroundings, the students also asked the people, especially shopkeepers and others working in the market to contribute towards cleanliness and hygiene in and around their shops.  

The Departments also organized Painting Competitions on Cleanliness in schools to bring about a  behavioural change in the young generation.The programme was aimed at ensuring that the people take benefits of the essential services and refrain from littering and indiscriminate dumping of the garbage. 

The establishment of solid waste management and liquid waste management facilities in the Panchayats of Block Kahri was made known to the populace besides generating awareness among masses about Panchayat sanitation. 

Similar programmes were also organized on day-3 in block Gundi-Dhram, Ukhral and Gandhri which had been taken up under Aspirational Block Development Programme by the Government.Later, a Swachhata Hi Seva pledge was also administered to the participants to regularly practice cleanliness and sanitation behaviour.
