BJP Chandigarh President Arun Sud led the Office bearers of the Freedom Fighters Successor Association including President K.K Sharda, Vice President Sanjeev Kumar and General Secretary Anand Singh to Meet Chandigarh Administrator and Governor Punjab Banwari Lal Purohit. Arun Sood informed the administrator about the long pending demands of the Freedom Fighters heirs and their families and a memorandum was given on behalf of the association.
The organization had demanded that the children of freedom fighters should be given the benefit of 2% reservation in government jobs. The families of freedom fighters should be given the facility of free medical treatment in the main hospitals of Chandigarh.
On the lines of Punjab and Haryana, the monthly pension of the dependents of freedom fighters should be increased from Rs 2500 per month to that of the neighboring states. As the Chandigarh administration is giving the benefit of reservation to the engineering students. Similar benefits should be given in admission to medical colleges also.
The administrator assured to consider the demands. At this time, Arun Sood said that BJP respects the freedom fighters and their families and will try to get their demands met At the same time, Arun Sood led another group in which members of SIA Met the administrator. SIA Group, a Chandigarh based social enterprise working towards empowering women, is organizing an event named “Daughter is a Valuable Asset” (DIVA) on 11th October. Group has requested the administrator to be the Chief Guest.

Arun Sood said that this is a big initiative of SIA Group for the society and as per the mantra of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao", Chandigarh BJP will fully support this organization.
