Teachers Day celebrations were today observed across all educational institutions of the district with great respect and enthusiasm.More than 50,000 students and teachers participated in at least 350 functions held across the district. 

Students celebrated the day with great reverence in their respective schools and colleges by conducting debates, seminars, and skits to highlight the role of teachers.Speaking on the occasion, teachers thanked their beloved students by conducting the celebrations in a unique way.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Umar Shafi presided over the main function held at GHSS Bandipora.A mega function was also held at Conference Hall Sumbal, wherein speakers highlighted the role of the teachers to shape the nation in the right way.

Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Mohammed Amin Beigh congratulated teachers on this auspicious day. He highlighted the contribution of all teachers in general and the teachers of District Bandipora in particular. 

He said that people are aware of the daunting challenges that teachers have to face while shaping and moulding the society and carving out a bright and prosperous future for our students.Many teachers were felicitated on the occasion by presenting them with mementos and trophies. Hundreds of teachers and students participated in the event.

Meanwhile two teachers from District Bandipora namely Dr Khursheed Ahmad, Principal HSS Nowgam and Muneer Ahmad Rather, teacher and Zonal Cultural Coordinator were also felicitated at divisional level by State Awards during a felicitation ceremony organised by Directorate of School Education by Hon'ble LG of J&K, Manoj Sinha at SKICC Srinagar.

DC Bandipora Dr. Owais congratulated the said teachers for getting recognition at UT Level. He said that teachers are nation builders, and their hard work defines the future of a nation.Celebrations were also held across all the Government Degree Colleges of District Bandipora. 

During the celebrations, debates, discussions, and painting competitions were held in order to signify the role and importance of a teacher in the lives of students.
