The District Administration Kathua organized a mega digital mela in the premises of Government Degree College Billawar which witnessed overwhelming participation of locals including school and college students.

President Municipal Council Billawar, Uma Kant Basotra; DDC Billawar, Bikram Singh; DDC Mandli Neeru Rajput, PRI members besides ADC Billawar, Vinay Khosla and other district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.

Stalls were set up by different departments at the venue aimed at creating awareness regarding online services launched by the government and providing online services on the spot to the general public. Meanwhile, the public representatives and Officers inspected the stalls and enquired about the online services offered by the departments.

The day of the Digital Week witnessed immense public response and officers, experts and resource persons were seen imparting awareness to the people about the available online services and information regarding Digi Locker, RAS, Awam Ke Awaz, eUnnat and Mobile Dost Application.

On the occasion, the departments put up banners and distributed pamphlets containing information about the online services pertaining to their departments.Addressing the gathering, the Chairperson MC said that the Government has started online services to bring transparency and ease for the public. He urged the people to gain awareness about the online services to avail this path breaking imitative of the government. 

He appealed to people to acquaint themselves with online public service delivery mechanisms adopted by Jammu and Kashmir administration where over 1000 e-services of different departments are available with the convenience of a single click on computer as well as on the mobile phone.

DDC Billawar Bikram Singh said that the event shall foster digital literacy, encourage the utilization of e-governance services and promote transparency in governance. He further said that the Digital Week serves as a platform for knowledge-sharing, networking, and collaboration among the stakeholders of technology and innovation.
