Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign initiated by Government of India was today launched by NSS units of Government College for Women Udhampur under the convenorship of NSS Pos, Prof. Sumita Rao and Prof. Rajinder Singh. Under this campaign many programmes will be organised in the memory of our immortal martyrs.

In this series, today “Panch Prana” pledge ceremony was organised where Principal of the college, Prof. Anjali Mahajan along with teaching, non-teaching staff, NSS Volunteers and other students participated.

All the participants after pledge ceremony posed for individual photographs/selfies with soil (Maati) collected from the college campus. This activity induced a sense of gratitude towards our soil (Maati ka Naman) which was the main objective of this campaign.

NSS volunteers, POs, staff members and Principal also carried lighting Diya in their hands and paid tribute to our Martyrs (Veeron Ka Vandan).NSS Volunteers also created one selfie corner with tricolours in the background and selfmade caricatures where all students and staff members clicked photographs enthusiastically.

About 80 volunteers and other students participated in the said events of the day.Technically the programme was coordinated by Dr. Kewal Kumar and Prof. Yash Kumar. All the staff and students also participated in online pledge on ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ portal.
