Punjab Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains on Friday directed Deputy Commissioner Rupnagar to prepare and furnish a detailed report on the damage caused by the recent floods in Sri Anandpur Sahib.

The Cabinet Minister, while presiding over the meeting, held at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 today, discuss various aspects to further speed up the relief operations and measurement of damages. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar Dr. Preeti Yadav, senior engineers of the Public Works Department, officials of the B&R and the National Highway Authority of India.

Mr. Bains informed that the people of the Sri Anandpur sahib have suffered massively due to floods which also caused huge loss to their property. Apart from this, there were also reports of damage to roads and bridges in several areas.

He said, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led government is trying to compensate for the loss of the people of the Sri Anandpur Sahib, instructing all the officials to prepare a detailed report of the damage and submit the same to his office in a stipulated time-frame.
