Today social media has become an integral part of everyone’s life especially the influencers and youtubers who many times cross limits to get likes and views. It has become very easy to be viral as all one has to do is something unusual and with the same thought the recent viral couple proposing in Kedarnath have made to headlines which has landed them into trouble leading to the decision of mobile phone ban at the sacred place.
Following all the incident, Badri Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) lodged a complaint to the police while writing a letter to them for taking strict action against those shooting video in the temple premises. The letter mentioned that such activities hurt religious sentiments and asked to take strict steps so that it doesn't happen again. Despite this, they did not mention the video in the letter.
As a result, mobile phone ban is soon going to be announced in Kedarnath and several arrangements are soon to be made to prohibit cell phones totally in concerns over the public, influencers, YouTubers creating videos and disrespecting sentiments with their objectionable behaviour.
Speaking about the viral video, a YouTuber named Vishakha proposed to her boyfriend in Kedarnath presemises in front of the temple and shot a video of doing which went viral on social media. Leading to this, many people as well as the temple’s committee showed displeasure for hurting devotee’s sentiments as such videos negatively impact the faith of the admirers who come to visit the temple.
