DDC Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan holds meeting with NHIDCL authorities to review progress on Khellani Tunnel, Highway Project

Deputy Commissioner of Doda, Shri Vishesh Paul Mahajan on Thursday chaired a meeting of NHIDCL authorities to review the progress of work on  tunnel and highway projects in the district.

The meeting held in the DC's office chamber, focused on evaluating the progress of the Khellani tunnel and the Goha-Khellani-Khannabal National Highway 244.

The DC Doda emphasized the importance of timely completion of the mega projects and urged the concerned authorities to issue new tenders to expedite the work. He also instructed Tehsildar Doda to visit the construction site   near Goha and resolve issues, if any.

A detailed discussion was held with the NHIDCL authorities regarding the status of work and future work plan. The Deputy Commissioner was informed that work on the Goha-Marmaat National Highway-244 is progressing well, with the workers giving their best performance to complete the project on time. 

Various bottlenecks and issues affecting the progress were discussed and the DC directed the concerned officers to take the matter seriously and find proper solutions to overcome these hurdles.The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of coordination and dedication in resolving any obstacles or issues that may impede the speed of progress in the ongoing mega project.   

Forest and land-related issues were also discussed during the meeting.The DC instructed the NHIDCL authorities and concerned officers to work together and find immediate solutions to prevent any hindrances to the execution work.

During the meeting, the DC highlighted that the Goha-Khellani-Khannabal National Highways 244, connecting Chennai to Sudhmahaev, will serve as an alternative route for road transport, thus reducing travel expenses. 

He further directed the NHIDCL authorities to prioritize bridge construction on the national highways instead of disputed areas. The meeting was attended by various officials, including ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, ACR Doda, CPO ACID Doda, GM NHIDCL, Account Officer Doda, and the Tehsildar of Doda.
