Mrghna Gulzar’s directorial Chhapaak the story of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal (shown in film as Malti) and her constant battle to overcome seemingly unbelievable depths of hopelessness. Malti’s character is played by Deepika Padukone who left no stone unturned in portraying the pain of the victim who was a class XII student when the bestial attack happened on her and 13 years of struggle in the life of Malti after the incident and the legal battle she fights for justice. The film really has the power to make each eye teary, touching everyone’s heart.
The Kerala Story is a recently released film which has really created havoc with its controversies, as it is based on the true events of Kerala as said by the director Sudipto Sen which claims that around 32000 womens from Kerala have been missing, brainwashed and they have been converted to Islam and forced to join terror organisations. The film faced many backlashes due to controversies but got a huge commercial success after its release.

The film M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story is based on the legendary cricketer and captain of the Indian national cricket team as the title itself suggests. The film stars late actor Sushant Singh Rajput who left no stone unturned in reliving the journey of Dhoni showcasing his life struggles as a person as well as cricketer. The biopic directed by Neeraj Pandey is a huge tribute to the cricketer who has made the nation proud with his work.

The film Neerja is the portrayal of a very brave air hostess Neerja Bhanot who gave her life to protect the lives of 359 passengers on a Pan Am Flight 73 in 1986 which was hijacked by a terror organisation. Sonam Kapoor carried out the role of Neerja and she did it in a very adorable way that left everyone teary eyed with the emotions.
The film Pad Man is really an inspiration for all the men as well as women leaving the patriarchal norms and society behind. It is based on a man Lakshmikant Chauhan (played by Akshay Kumar) based in a village of the rural of East India who after marriage realises the problems of menstruation that women are facing during their periods while using clothes. Forced after seeing how the women are affected, he decides to create a sanitary pad machine and gets successful in that and provides inexpensive sanitary pads to the women of rural India. The film is written and directed by R. Balki.
