Kashmir is all set to host G20 India delegates at the 3rd Tourism Working Group Meeting. The deliberations aim to strengthen economic growth, preserve cultural heritage, and promote sustainable development of the region.Srinagar gets a complete makeover ahead of the G-20 meeting commences from 22 May.

The Government of India hold the G-20 Tourism meeting in Srinagar of Jammu and Kashmir such an international event for the first time after the abrogation article of 370. With this G20 summit in Jammu and Kashmir, the territory is set to become a hub of business and investment opportunities and it would also be the first step in huge investments from across the world.

G20 will Promote tourism in Kashmir 

G20 in kashmir will ignite socio-economic growth in Kashmir. It represents a momentous opportunity for the world to witness the unparalleled magnificence and stunningly beautiful region. 

Kashmir will showcase the local culture, music, & cuisine. Guests would have the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Dal Lake while being entertained by various performances. The illuminated shikaras would add a magical touch, creating a memorable experience for everyone

Jammu and Kashmir's Tourism Secretary Syed Abid Rasheed said- 'Preparations are going on in full swing. Srinagar is preparing itself to welcome the G-20 delegates. He said- 'This is a big opportunity for all.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone from the rest of the country through you. We had a big participation of tourism. Last year a record number of tourists came here. We see this as a great opportunity to showcase Jammu and Kashmir to the world.

Changes happening in Srinagar a head of G20 

Apart from a detailed security plan for the G-20 meeting in Kashmir, a major change is being made in Srinagar. Footpaths and cycle tracks are being made here. The riverfront Rajbagh road has been redone was Inaugurated by Lt Governor Monoj Sinha recently and It’s now one of first uniform carriage roads in city.

The underground drainage parking spaces both on street as well as off street have been made, long walking and cycling spaces have been built. The green spaces, sitting spaces, alongwith carefully designed lighting & illumination has been done.

Desilting and slope stabilisation of river bund has been done. Urban art objects especially ones for kids have been put up to give the place a festive look! The entire area is universally accessible. Proper ramps, tactile lines have been put through out. The property entries are also properly designed. This is will be another must visit places in srinagar city.

Redevelopment of famous PoloView High Street-First completely pedestrian & wire free market in Srinagar, Universal access, separate underground sewerage & drainage networks,Underground electricity &comm. lines,facade improvmnt of buildings, public convenience all part of it.

India assumes the G20 Presidency on the 1st of December 2022 

India assumes the Presidency of the G20 from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023. The theme of India's G20 Presidency is - "VasudhaivaKutumbakam" or "One Earth . One Family . One Future.Foreign media hails India's decision to host G20 meetings in Kashmir, describing it as a chance for delegates to witness paradise on earth. 

Environmental issues are a global concern, and the G20 Summit in Kashmir provides a platform for international collaboration. to address climate change, promote sustainable practices, and protect the region's natural beauty.
