Wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar Delhi against the Wrestling Federation of India chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have been sitting on the protest toll now in demand of justice but still no actions has been taken in the favour of the wrestlers and Brij Bhushan is roaming freely despite of such accusations. Now as announced by the wrestlers, they have started the Black Day.
The wrestlers yesterday announced about the Black Day on 11 May 2023. 2018 Asian Games champion Vinesh Phogat said, “I appeal to all the individuals and organisations supporting us to come and join us in a black armband protest on Thursday. Tomorrow , we will express our opposition by wearing black armbands.”
Black Day has been started by the wrestlers at 10 am in the morning and it will last till 2 pm in the afternoon and they will be protesting against the alleged, in demand of justice by wearing black bands on their heads and arms. Sangeeta Phogat has also shared a video in which we can see many wrestlers as well as other supporters wearing black bands while speaking Black Day. Sangeeta shared the video on her Twitter handle while captioning it as, “Black Day start 10am-2pm ️ #Black_Day_11_May #istandwithmychampions #wrestlersprotest #wewantjustice”

On 29 April, Brij Bhushan claimed himself as innocent when FIR’s were lodged against him and he also said that he is ready to undergo investigation. The wrestlers demanded to make him undergo a lie-detector Narco Test, under the supervision of SC.
2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist Malik said to media, “Those people speaking in favour of the WFI chief and saying that we are lying, I would say that Brij Bhushan should undergo a Narco Test under Supreme Court... and also the seven women wrestlers (all the ones who have alleged him of sexual harassment).”
