The Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), Muneer ul Islam today held an interactive session with the Labour Union, Common Service Center (CSC) members and other stakeholders at Bandipora.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss various issues faced by the workers in the building and construction industry and to seek suggestions and feedback from the attendees on how to improve the working conditions and welfare of the workers.

Speaking on the occasion, Muneer ul Islam in his address, emphasized the importance of providing safe and secure working conditions to the workers in the construction industry, and assured the attendees that the Board is committed to protecting the rights and interests of the workers.

He said that the Government of India and Government of UT J&K have kept many schemes available for the welfare and development of society. He said that they should take advantage of all such schemes.

The meeting was attended by District Nodal Officer Coordination and Assistant Commissioner Development Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, Assistant Labour Commissioner Bandipora Mohammad Arif besides a large number of representatives from various Labour Unions, CSC members and other stakeholders from the construction industry.

They raised several issues and challenges faced by the workers in the industry.The Secretary listened to the concerns of the attendees and promised to take all necessary measures to address these issues. 

He also assured them that the Board will work towards creating a safe and secure working environment for the workers and providing them with better wages and access to basic facilities.Cheques worth Rupees 9 lac were also distributed on the occasion among different beneficiaries.

The attendees appreciated the efforts of JKBOCWWB in organizing such an interactive session and providing a platform for the workers to raise their concerns and suggestions. They also expressed their confidence in the Board's commitment to the welfare of the workers in the construction industry.

Assistant Labour Commissioner on the occasion said that the session resulted into a fruitful discussion that helped to identify the challenges faced by the workers in the construction industry and to find ways to improve their working conditions and welfare.

He reaffirmed the commitment to addressing these issues and working towards creating a better future for the workers in the industry.
