Yesterday, on 12 April 2023, Jio Studios surprised the audiences with the announcement of 100 movies and web series lined up during the grand event of their anniversary celebration which created a buzz among the viewers. The surprises didn't end up here, the event also served the fans with the release announcements of two big highly anticipated films.
Yes, you heard that right, two big films of the most loved superstars have been announced in the event. The films include the sequels of Stree and Bhediya which have increased the excitement among the fans. Stree 2 and Bhediya 2 are soon going to be on floors as announced by the lead cast in the event.
Speaking about Stree 2, Tu Jhooti Mai Makkar actress Shraddha Kapoor Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi appeared on stage and announced the film and revealed that the film Stree 2 is slated to hit the cinema screens on 31 August 2024 right after the six years of the original film Stree released in 2018. Stree was helmed by debutant Amar Kaushik and was produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj & D.K. It proved itself to be a blockbuster with great commercial success and also received 10 nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards.
Coming to the announcement of Bhediya 2, Varun Dhawan announced the sequel in a very different way as he came to stage and presented the rap song from the part one and as soon as the rap ended the Bhediya 2 title logo appeared on the screen. It also revealed that the sequel will hit the cinemas in 2025. The first part released on 25 November 2022 was directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan. It starred Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles.
Both the announcements have raised the bar of excitement among the audiences as they can’t wait to watch the sequels of the horror comedies on the big screens now. Meanwhile, a series of 100 movies and series by top stars and filmmakers were shared by Jio Studios that are ready to entertain you with its incredible and stunning stories.
