The district administration organised its first buyer-seller meet at Supwal here today. The event provided a platform for interaction between small businesses, entrepreneurs, artisans, handicraft workers, self-help groups and co-operatives from the district and industrialists and women entrepreneurs from Samba and Jammu.

More than 20 sellers and 30 buyers participated in the event. It included guidance on marketing and other business aspects as well as handholding and tie-ups between buyers and sellers.Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta spoke at the event and shared that the objective was to expand the business activity of participating sellers through handholding or buy-back agreements. She emphasised that the meet would give local artisans and growers exposure to market potential in different sectors. 

She hoped that it would culminate in better working relationships between buyers and sellers.The event was organised by Kaushal Sangam’s Skill Development & Self-employment Cell headed by PO ICDS, Joginder Jasrotia. Other attendees included CPO, Sukhleen Kour; DSWO, AD Handicrafts, DIO, AD Employment, Sanjali MG Fellow (Nabard), CAO among other officers.
