Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2023, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi and said that Parliament discussion follows rules made before your (Rahul Gandhi) grandmother's time.

Debates happen in Parliament on the basis of rules, and these rules have not been made by us, these have been made before your grandmother's time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in an apparent dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave 2023, Amit Shah blamed opposition parties for disrupting Parliament proceedings. He said, “Debates happen in Parliament on the basis of rules; it cannot happen like it happens on roads.”

Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks come after Rahul Gandhi recently alleged in the UK that the microphones of opposition MPs are switched off in Parliament.During one of his recent addresses in London, Rahul Gandhi used a faulty microphone in the room to make his point about what he described as "stifling" of the Opposition's voice in India.

The Home Minister further said at India Today Conclave that “Rahul Gandhi went without any security and was able to unfurl the Tricolour at Lal Chowk because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”Amit Shah said, "Even after Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress still lost the polls in the three northeast polls (Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Tripura elections)."

For nearly two decades, the India Today Conclave has been a global diagnostic, measuring the pulse of the world, making sense of random developments and predicting the next big thing.
