The panelists scholars from various national and international institutions addressed the youth of India and other countries in the main event of Y-20 Consultation Summit Amritsar being hosted by Guru Nanak Dev University. 

This event was organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India. More than 50 international and large number of national delegates from G20 and other countries deliberated in the four sessions This event was formally inaugurated by  S. , Minister for Education, Govt. of Punjab by lighting candles. 

Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Academic Affairs formally welcomed the the Minister for Education and said that the organization of this event has been made possible by the able leadership and untiring efforts of our Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu. 

He honored S. Bains with traditional Phulkari and Coffee Table Book. On this occasion, S. Bains warmly welcomed the national and international panelists and delegates to holy city Amirtsar and asked them to visit all parts the state of Punjab. 

He also said that the youth is the key of success for every nation and education is a weapon in the hands of every nation that is essential for all round development and growth of every country. He congratulated the administration, faculty and above all the students of Guru Nanak Dev University for marking their presence at national as well as international level due to their hardwork and dedication. 

Sharing his student life experience, he said that by participating in the high level events students got exposure and learned about their limits which no formal education could provide. He said that education is the best weapon to bring change in society. 

He said that we started a scheme for class 11th students to learn business skills by experimenting. We have started to teach them courses related to finance, accounting, trade etc. and have provided a grant of Rs. 2000/- to every student to experiment individually or in group of maximum of eight students to learn practical business skills. 

Dr. Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh also joined the Summit in the after noon session. The panelists deliberated on issues like GM crops, receding ground water level, conservation of soil etc. The learned panelist also answered the queries of the young students, who raised the most relevant questions to the panelist on this occasion. 

One of the student asked that what should be policy of Govt of India towards genetically modified crops. Another students raised the issue of deteriorating soil quality and its impact on agriculture. In reply to another questions raised by students regarding job opportunities, one of the panelist defined 'job' as 'Join Other's Business' and suggested that the youth should be job creators and not seekers. 

In reply to the another question raised by a student regarding the impact of rising population on job opportunity, Dr. Hundal stressed that rising population is not a problem rather it is rising pool of talent, creating opportunities. 

He also added that migration of population is creating a balance automatically as there are many nations where the growth of population is negative and they are seeking hands for working in their countries. 

In the third session, the panelist recommended that the youth should not fear from artificial intellegene based changes. There are a number of opportunities around the moment. They also suggested that India should involve the youth to realize the dividends from its young population. 

In the last session, replying to a question raised by the students regarding avenues offered by the government for inviting ideas from the young people, the panelists recommended that the governments of G-20 countries should devise a policy of inviting visionary ideas from their young population before making a policy which will also strengthen the democratic traditions of G-20 nations. 

They summarize that institute need to endeavor to bring young minds to form they can be invoked to visualize the problems which essentially are entrepreneurial opportunities.The Education Minister S. Bains and MLA Dr. Vijay Pratap honored the panelists. 

Prof. K.S. Kahlon, Registrar, Prof. Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi, Dean, Student Welfare were also present on this occasion. The day ended with the cultural program at Golden Jubilee Convention Centre. All the sessions were streamed live on various social media channels.
