It is reported that eastern Tajikistan has been hit by a 7.2 magnitude Earthquake on Thursday near China border at approximately at a depth of about 10 kilometres. The quake was strongly felt in Kashgar Artux, western part of the Xinjiang region of China as the epicentre is about 82 kilometres away from the nearest border with China.

The area of Tajikistan where the quake shook was remote and sparsely populated. The China Earthquake Networks Center reported that the earthquake was of 7.2 magnitude and 10 km deep. But the numbers may differ according to seismic measurements by different agencies. There have been no casualties, as per the reports.
Earlier, Turkey and Syria were shaken by a massive Earthquake which led to a lot of destruction as buildings collapsed resulting in deaths of people in large numbers.
