Commissioner of Police vows to promote mother language Punjabi

Asks officers to ensure use of Punjabi language in official & personal life

Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Sidhu on Tuesday appealed the officers of Ludhiana Commissionerate to increasingly use  our mother language Punjabi for official purposes as well as in their personal lives and urged them to promote mother tongue.

Addressing the force in a function organized in police lines to celebrate International Mother Language Day, Sidhu said that we all should be proud of mother language as it defines our identity and brings us together oneness in the society. He said that it was the mother tongue for which a child does not require any training but it comes naturally. 

He said that we may go around the world and learn many languages but we should never forget our mother tongue. He also asked the youth to become ambassadors of the Punjabi for a successful life by promoting and propagating the mother tongue, remembering motherland. 

He said that identify of a society was being noticed how the people respect their mother tongue. He also asked the parents to encourage their children to appreciate their mother tongue, so that they feel proud to speak it freely and confidently.

Sidhu said that mother language was not mere words but it connects you with yourself, your family and your people. He urged the officials to ensure use of Punjabi language in daily functioning as much as they can. He also urged the society to respect mother languages of all individuals.

Meanwhile, The Commissioner of Police also distributed specially designed clocks having beautiful engraved numbers and 35 letters of Punjabi alphabet in Gurmukhi script and has "Ma boli saada maan" slogan in the bottom.
