The iconic singer Sonu Nigam is well known for his melodious songs. His voice melts everyone's hearts. People love to listen to him and attend his live concerts. Recently in a live concert, Sonu Nigam was attacked and pushed down the stairs by MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son, Swapnil Phaterpekar when he was moving down from the stage.

Shiv Sena leader Prakash Phaterpekar organised an event in Mumbai's Chembur on Monday. Sonu Nigam was there to attend the event where he and his team was allegedly manhandled at the event. A video is going viral on social media in which a man from Sonu’s team can be seen being pushed down the stage.

Speaking about the incident, as Sonu was walking down the stage, some people rushed to him to take selfies with him. MLA’s son, Swapnil wanted to take a selfie with the singer and misbehaved with Sonu’s manager and asked him to leave the stage and when Sonu was getting down the stairs he ended up pushing Sonu. When Rabbani Khan tried to save the singer, the man aggressively pushed Rabbani and he fell seven feet off the stairs, onto the ground below. Sonu did not get any injuries but the people who tried to save him have been injured.

As said by the leader Prakash, "Sonu Nigam was getting down from the stage when some people rushed to take a selfie. During that time, bodyguards were trying to push those people away, but by mistake, one person from Sonu Nigam's team was pushed by mistake. Nothing has happened to Sonu Nigam."

Sonu’s team claimed that, "When Sonu Nigam was coming down from the stage after performing, the MLA's son first pushed Sonu Nigam's bodyguard Hari and then pushed Sonu. Rabbani Khan, son of Sonu Nigam's maestro, was also present at this event. He fell down from the stage in the scuffle. He suffered many injuries and was immediately taken to Zen Hospital in Chembur. Sonu Nigam is shaken by this whole incident. He has not suffered any kind of injury. Rabbani's treatment is going on."

Talking about Sonu’s talke on the incident, he said, “After the concert, I was coming down from stage when a man Swapnil Prakash Phaterpekar held me. Then he pushed Hari & Rabbani who came to save me. Then I fell on steps. I filed a complaint so that people should think about forcefully taking selfies & causing scuffle."

The police official said, “As per interaction with Sonu Nigam, incident didn’t seem to be intentional, it was done by a single person. The volunteers then controlled the situation. Only one name in FIR. It’s just a case where the singer was held by accused maybe due to intention of having photo,".
