The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Yar Ali Khan today chaired a meeting of concerned Officers to review the implementation of District Environmental Plan recommendations.
Speaking on the occasion, the ADC stressed upon the members to work in synergetic mode so that recommendations of the plan are implemented in letter and spirit.He directed to formulate a viable plan for proper and scientific solid and liquid waste management besides terming their management vital for environmental preservation.
He emphasized upon all stakeholders to participate in environmental conservation and reiterated that the Administration is committed towards a clean and healthy environment in the district.
On the occasion, a thorough discussion was held on the subject and it was informed that the plan was formulated after thorough assessment of different parameters concerning environmental protection.
The meeting aimed to curb use of plastic/polythene, improving the disposal of solid waste and hospital waste with community participation.EO MC was directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the whole town and also gear up men and machinery for making the whole town pollution free.
Among others GM DIC, DFO, ACP, CMO, CEO, DSHO, EO MC Shopian, District officer Pollution Control Board and others attended the meeting.
