As everyone knows that this is the first collaboration between Shahrukh Khan and John Abraham. When the question came on this first time collaboration Shahrukh Khan replied that “He has known me for years. He is very shy, quiet, and inclusive. I met him many times when he was doing movies or we wanted to do a film together and this happened by chance. I was very keen to see him do it. He is kind enough to accept the role and he is really a bad guy. He is a top star. He has his own franchises happening and some really cool action films happening. And then decide to take a film in which you are a bad guy. It takes a lot of guts and confidence in oneself, especially in Hindi Film scenarios in which Heros don't play bad roles. So, I gained a deep respect for him”.

Shahrukh also said that he is a very gentle giant. During the time of the shoot he used to say “I couldn’t hurt you can punch you. It takes a lot of time to convince Sharukh to tell John that it is okay, you can punch me, I won't get hurt”. Shahrukh said he has helped him a lot during the action. He teaches me a lot during the shoot about the action because he is a professional action star”. John has a profound respect for Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh Khan also mentioned that “I hope genuinely the most liked character in Pathaan will be of John Abraham ''.
