Team Hamdard in collaboration with District Administration Ramban today organised  Jashan-e-Ramban, a musical and literary programme here at Maitra Parak. The programme was sponsored by the various local business houses.

While Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam was the chief guest, DDC member, Renuka Katoch was the guest of honour on the occasion. The objective of organising the event was to explore, expose and hone the local talent besides promoting the rich and diverse culture of Ramban district.

Many young and adult amateur artists including three visually impaired artists namely Nusrat Malik, Bahar-ul-Islam and Mohammed Rizwan presented their songs and gazals.

The Kashmiri song by young local heart throb, Neha Rakwal,Punjabi songs by Gohar Ali, Dogri songs by Jiwan Lal, Pogli Gazal by Abdul Latif Bulbul and Zundari song by Raghubir Singh Raju entertained the small but impressive audience.

While addressing the audience, the Deputy Commissioner,  lauded the efforts of NGO, Team Hamdard founders, Owais Shah Kalbi, Zia Choudhary etc and local traders for organising the event at a short notice.

He said that such cultural programmes would go a long way not only in promoting the talent but also reviving our rich cultural heritage especially the vernaculars and dialects.

He informed that the District Administration is exploring the possibilities to establish an auditorium with a special and inbuilt sound and light system inside the District Administrative Complex which would encourage the local artists to perform to their perfection.

Administration has also recommended establishing a Cultural Centre in Ramban, he added. All the participants were felicitated with participation certificates.
