Chief Minister Sukhvider Singh Sukhu today administered oath of office and secrecy to six Chief Parliamentary Secretaries here today.

Sunder Singh Thakur from Kullu assembly segment, Mohan Lal Brakta from Rohru Assembly Constituency, Ram Kumar Chaudhary from Doon assembly constituency, Ashish Butail from Palampur assembly segment, Kishori Lal from Baijnath assembly constituency and Sanjay Awasthi from Arki assembly constituency took oath as Chief Parliamentary Secretary.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agniohtri, Political Advisor to Chief Minister Sunil Sharma, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, MLAs, OSD to Chief Minister Gopal Sharma, Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, other senior officers and family members of newly appointed Chief Parliamentary Secretaries were also present on the occasion.

The government took late night decision to appoint six Chief Parliamentary Secretaries so as to give representation to the districts for equitable development and welfare of the people.Bio Data of Chief Parliamentary Secretaries

Sunder Singh Thakur         

Son of Smt. Khubi Devi and Shri Jog Dhian Thakur, he was born on 5th May, 1965 at Shallang, Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. He completed B.Sc. (Medical) from Punjab University and LL.B from Himachal Pradesh University. He is married to Smt. Indira Thakur and has two sons. He is horticulturist and hotelier.

Sunder Singh Thakur Remained Organizing Secretary HIMSA Chandigarh from 1985 to 1986, Vice President H.P. NSUI from 1989 to 1991, Member Panchayat Samiti in 1991 and Chairman of Panchayat Samiti Kullu from 1991 to 1994. 

He was Vice- Chairman Zila Parishad Kullu from 1994 to 1999, Vice-President Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress, State Delegates H.P. Congress Committee from 2009 to 2012 and General Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee 2012 onwards.

He also remained Member of State Pollution Control Board from 2003 to 2008 and Member of Himachal Pradesh Sports Council from 2013 to 2017.He was elected to the thirteenth Vidhan Sabha in December, 2017 and nominated as Member of General Development and Subordinate Legislation Committees. He was re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.

Mohan Lal Brakta

Son of Shri Teju Ram, he was born on 19th June, 1965 at Rohru of District Shimla. He is L.L.B. He is married to Smt. Ranjna Brakta and has one son and one daughter. He is also an advocate.

Mohan Lal Brakta was elected to the State Legislative Assembly in 2012. He remained Member, Estimates, Rural Planning, Public Undertakings, Welfare, Privileges and Ethics Committees from 2013 to 2017.

He was re-elected to the thirteenth Vidhan Sabha (2nd term) and nominated as Member, Welfare, Rule and e-Governance-cum-General Purposes Committees. He was re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.

Ram Kumar Chaudhary

Son of Shri Lajja Ram, former Chief Parliamentary Secretary of Govt. of Himachal Pradesh, he was born on 02nd March, 1969 at Village Haripur Sandoli of District Solan. He is Post Graduate in Public Administration. He is married to Smt. Kuldeep Kaur (Nidhi) and has one son and one daughter.

Ram Kumar Chaudhary was president Haripur Sandoli Gram Sudhar Sabha, General Secretary i) Pradesh NSUI from 1993 to 1995, ii) State Youth Congress in 2003, iii) Pradesh Congress Committee till date and Chairman Zila Parishad of District Solan from January, 2006 to January, 2011.

He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly for the first time in December 2012 and was re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.

Ashish Butail

Son of Smt. Beena Butail and Shri Brij Behari Lal Butail, former Speaker and Cabinet Minister Himachal Pradesh, he was born on 9th January, 1980 at Ludhiana, Punjab. He is B.Com. He got education at Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce Pune. He is married to Smt. Kanika Bhullar; one daughter; Agriculturist.

Ashish Butail remained President Lok Sabha Youth Congress Committee from 2011to 2013 and Secretary HP Congress Committee from 2014 onward.He was elected to the thirteenth Vidhan Sabha in December, 2017 and nominated as Member, Estimates and Rural Planning Committees. He was re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.

Kishori Lal

Son of late Shri Sant Ram; born on 10th October, 1947 at Baijnath of District Kangra. He is married to Smt. Jogendra Devi and has one son and three daughters. He is an agriculturist and hotelier.

Kishori Lal remained Panchyat Up- Pradhan and Pradhan five times, General Secretary of Block and District Congress Committee, Senior Vice President of District Congress Committee and Member PCC.He was elected to the State Assembly for the first time in December, 2012 and re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.

Sanjay Awasthy

Son of Smt. Amar Lata Awasthy and late Shri Dila Ram, he was born on 7th October, 1965 at VPO Kandher of Teh Arki in District Solan, Himachal Pradesh.Sanjay Awasthy is a graduate. He is married to Smt. Meenakshi and has two daughters. He is social and political worker, horticulturist and transporter.

He remained President (elected) District Cricket Association (Solan) from 1996 to 2006 and Elected Councillor Municipal Council Solan from 2000 to 2005. Presently he is General Secretary HPCC and Member of AICC and State Disciplinary Committee HPCC.

He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly for the first time in By-election held on 30th October 2021 and re-elected to 14th Legislative Assembly in December, 2022.
