The trend of remaking South Indian films in Bollywood is very popular in recent times. Bollywood filmmakers are very much inspired by the style of south filmmakers.

The trend of remaking south films became very much popular after two back-to-back superhits of South remakes that were ‘Ghajini and Wanted’. After these hits, Bollywood actively started remaking South films. So take a look at the upcoming Bollywood remakes of 2023 from South Indian Films.

  • Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo: Shehzada

The upcoming movie ‘Shehzada’ is a remake of the South Indian film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’. Shehzada is scheduled to be released on 10 February 2023. It is a Bollywood remake of the Telugu film ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ (2020), which starred Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde. Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon will be featured in ‘Shehzada’. Kartik recently shared pictures on his IG, captioning, “Kaam Shuru” with the background music from ‘Shehzada”.

  • Kaithi: Bholaa

The movie ‘Kaithi’ released in 2019 is a Tamil language action thriller film starring Karthi, Narain, and Arjun Das. ‘Bholaa’ is a remake of ‘Kaithi’ which is set to be released in cinemas on 30 March 2023. Ajay Devgn and Tabu will be playing the lead role in ‘Bholaa’. Ajay Devgn himself is the director and producer of the film and this movie is a big challenge for him. On New Year 2023, Ajay posted a video on his IG promoting ‘Bholaa’ by captioning his post as, “The year of Bholaa begins! Wishing everyone a Happy New Year. #SetsfBholaa #BholaaIn3D”.

  • Driving License: Selfiee

The movie ‘Selfiee’ is a remake of the 2019 Malayalam comedy-drama film, ‘Driving License’ featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The star cast of ‘Selfiee’ is Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi and will be seen together on the screen for the first time. The film is soon going to be released on 24 February 2023. The director of the movie ‘Raj Mehta’  says ‘Selfiee’ is not a remake but an adaption of 2019’s Malayalam blockbuster ‘Driving License’. It is a comedy-drama movie. 

  • Veeran: Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

The movie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ starring ‘Salman Khan’ is a Bollywood remake of the South Indian film ‘Veeran’ which is all set to be released on 21 April 2023. This film is produced by Salman Khan himself. Pooja Hegde, Shehnaaz Gill, Raghav Juyal, and many more stars will be sharing the screen with Salman Khan in this movie. Apart from this, Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 is soon going to be released in 2023 after Eid.
