Rs 2 crore Educational Assistance disbursed among 2900 beneficiaries at Ganderbal

Labour department Ganderbal has disbursed an amount of Rs 2.7 crore among 2900 beneficiaries under educational assistance scheme during the year 2021-22. 

Keeping the legacy of the department alive, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir in presence of Assistance Commissioner Labour (ALC) today disbursed 1142 educational assistance cases amounting to Rs 96.48 lakh thereby benefiting around 2100 children of registered construction workers.

On the occasion, the Assistant Labour Commissioner Ganderbal said that the Labour Department Ganderbal has received around 4600 cases under educational assistance scheme during the year 2021-22 out of which 1700 cases were found deficient for various reasons.

To reach out to these deficient case holders, the department through various means informed the concerned workers to correct their cases for disbursement. 

Hundreds of workers were also personally telephoned so that the workers could not be deprived of benefits. A total of 339 cases stands rejected due to their non-eligibility for the assistance, he added.
