District Development Council Chairperson Rajouri, Chowdhary Naseem Liyaqat today took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements of the Jal Shakti sector. 

The meeting was attended by the DDC Member Rajouri, Sai Abdul Rashid; DDC Member Dhangri, Rameshwar Singh; DDC Member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; DDC Member Sunderbani, Rajinder Sharma; DDC Member Thanamandi, Abdul Qayoom Mir; DDC Member Doongi, Khalid Chowdhary; DDC Member Seri, Sangeeta Sharma; DDC Kalakote, Anita Thakur; DDC Moughla, Shamim Akhter and DDC Member Nowshera, Manohar Singh; BDC Rajouri, Darbar Chowdhary; BDC Dhangri, Tazheem Akhter; BDC Plangarh, Parveen Akhter; BDC Siot, Bal Krishan; BDC Seri, Neena Sharma; BDC Moughla, Surekha Kotewal and BDC Budhal Old-A, Javed Iqbal Chowdhary; BDC Darhal, Mohd Aslam attended the meeting.

ADDC Rajouri, Pawan Kumar; SE Hydraulics, JP Singh; ExEn Jal Shakti Rajouri, Adarsh Kalsotra; ExEn Jal Shakti Nowshera; Vipin Kumar; ExEn Ground Water and Drilling Division Jammu, ExEn Jal Shakti Mechanical, Manmohan Singh and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Chairman took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial progress under different schemes being implemented by the Jal Shakti Department in the district. 

The concerned officers briefed the meeting about the latest status in this regard. The SE Hydraulics, JP Singh informed that out of 293 proposed schemes, the tenders for 85 have been allotted while the work on 47 schemes is in progress. 

The DDC Chairman said that Jal Jeevan Mission envisages providing safe drinking water through individual household tap connections in a time bound manner. He directed the concerned officers to work with added zeal to ensure the timeline completion of JJM projects in the district.

Taking stock of the progress on installation and repair of handpumps in the district, the Chairman asked the concerned officer to expedite the progress in this regard. 

Similarly, the Chairman also reviewed the progress on schemes of I &FC Sector and directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of work to ensure that the projects are completed well in time to provide necessary benefits to the general public.

Stressing on proper upkeep of the existing installations, he said that the funds released for the maintenance of the Jal Shakti schemes shall be spent in concurrence with the elected representatives.

He also asked the concerned officers to immediately lodge the FIR if any one causes damage to their machinery. The DDC Chairman also asked the concerned officers to ensure proper drinking water supply to the general public so that they don't face any inconveniences.

The Chairman also stressed on timely utilisation of the funds sanctioned for developmental works and ensuring regular inspection. He also urged the DDC Members and BDC Chairpersons to ensure the proper monitoring of the developmental projects being executed in their areas for ensuring quality and adherence to set timelines.
