Panchayat Electoral Revision- 2023 : DEPO Ramban launches SVEEP drive to spread awareness

The aim of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation program (SVEEP), is to educate and promote voters literacy among  electors and equip them with basic knowledge related to the electoral process,  said District Panchayat Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner),  Mussarat Islam, said while addressing newly eligible voters  in a programme at Ramban.

The DEPO urged upon the people in general and young electors in particular to actively take part in the electoral process to contribute to the development of the country. 

Meanwhile, the DEPO kick started SVEEP activities in the district to sensitize the people in general and eligible voters in particular to register themselves in the Panchayat Electoral Rolls for which the Panchayat Electoral Rolls revision 2023 is commencing from 21.12.2022.

Referring to Panchayat Electoral Revision which commenced today, the DPEO urged upon the participants to disseminate the information about Panchayat Electoral Revision in their respective areas so that no eligible voter is left out   during the Revision.

In his address, Deputy District Election Officer, Lal Chand informed that the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision process commenced today (December 21, 2022) with January 1, 2023 as the qualifying date for the registration of new voters. 

He briefed the participants about the forms including Form PER 2A, PER 2B, PER 2C and PER 2D to be used during the revision. Six special camps shall be organized during the revision period during which the Booth Levels Officers (BLOs) shall remain available at the Polling Station locations with requisite Forms for the assistance of PEBOs and guidance of the electors, he informed.

Earlier, the students of various schools spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of the electoral process. They also presented nuked natik and skits relating to SVEEP and registration of newly eligible voters during the Panchayat Electoral Roll Revision.
