The State-wide agitation by the Congress workers against the increase in railway passenger fare and freight tariff by the NDA Government continued on Monday also.A large number of members of Youth Congress and workers led by former president of Haryana Pradesh Youth Congress, Chiranjeev Rao today gathered on the streets at Rewari and registered their protest against the increase in railway fares. They also submitted a memorandum to Railway Superintendent, Rewari addressed to Union Railways Minister, Mr. DV Sadananda Gowda demanding the immediate roll back of the increased railway fares.

Speaking on this occasion, Chiranjeev Rao said that the BJP has grabbed the power by betrayed the people of the Country and promising them Good Days (Acche Din). He said that the hike in Railway tariff made by the Union Government was much higher than the hike made by UPA during its two consecutive terms. He described this move of NDA government as a ‘back door entry’. He said that the rail budget is likely to be presented on July 9, 2014 and increasing the railway fares through the back door by neglecting the Parliamentary practices is completely inappropriate. He said that the steep hike in the railway fares would directly hit the pockets of common man.

He urged the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi to fulfill his promise of Good Days and keep a check on the inflation. He made it clear that till the increase in railway fares are not rolled back, the agitation by the Congress workers would continue. He also took a dig at the BJP saying that “Modi Sarkar Ka Ye Kaisa Khel, Mehngi Rail-Mehnga Tel” and “Jhoothey Wadon Par Sawar, Ye Kaise Aayi Bhajpa Sarkar”.With the demand of roll back of increase in rail fares, the Congress workers carried out a procession from Rewari railway Chowk upto Railway Station and also raised slogans against the BJP Government. The local people also took part in the procession and also registered their protest against the hike in railway fares.

Chairman, Municipal Council, Shakuntala Bhadoria, Municipal Councillors, Ravi Yadav, Shayam Lal Baghoria, Chandan Yadav, Amrit Kala Tikani, Itender Pal Yadav, Satya Narain Yadav, Chairman Panchayat Samiti, Ms. Rajbala, Naresh Sharma, Hira Lal, Block President, Ashok Yadav, former councillors Devaki, Hansraj, President Youth Congress, Rewari, Ramotar Gurjar, General Secretary, Gurgaon Lok Sabha, Bharat Toungar and large number of Congress workers also took part in the protest.
