As part of ‘Good Governance Week’, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan today met various public delegations to listen to their issues and grievances.

The delegations from Baba Gund Kunan, PRIs, Civil society members Aragam and other areas of district met the ADDC to present issues of public importance. Issues related to installation of transformers, drinking water and other essentials were raised. 

Ali Afsar Khan after patiently listening to the delegations passed on spot directions for redressal of various grievances and assured that the rest will be taken up with concerned departments for redressal on priority.

Meanwhile, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad took extensive tour of Vijhara, TA Shah, Kunan and other  areas to take first-hand information on service delivery.

During his visit, the Joint Director inspected ongoing JJM works at various areas. During the tour, JDP met public who expressed deep satisfaction on the execution of JJM  works especially filtration plants, Service reservoirs etc. 

It was given out that under JJM, 61 crores worth investment is being made in Arin block for construction of 27 Filtration plants and as many Service reservoirs that shall stabilize the water supply of area for designed 30 years ahead. 

While interacting with  the PRIs, the officers intimated them the objectives of Good Governance week and noted down issues on spot. One issue was unanimously raised at TA Shah regarding need of flood protection works.

The officer assured that the matter shall be taken up with Executive Engineer I&FC Bandipora for projecting the same in capex/ ADF budget.
