The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, S F Hamid today visited village Ichgam to take stock of progress of various ongoing developmental works in different panchayat halqas. The DC also chaired a meeting with local PRIs to review progress of works projected during Back To Village Phase- IV programme at Girls High School Ichgam.

The meeting among others was attended by President BDC Budgam, Ghulam Hassan Khan, Sarpanchs, Panchs and other respected. At the outset, the concerned officers informed that work on development of twin playfields was going on in full swing, while retrofitting work on pipeline and upgradiation of WSS has also started.

The DC also reviewed the development of roads including inner lanes and bylanes, construction of soakage pits and installation of electric poles, transformers, shifting of transmission lines at all identified spots in these panchayat halqas of Ichgam.

The DC said that various demands projected by locals during the B2V4 programme, which was chaired by Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta have been taken up with the relevant quarters for timely resolution.

Concerned officers also apprised the DC about the progress of works including, upgradation of schools, irrigation works, creation of job cards, functioning of ICDS centers, progress of PRI works and other lane and drain works in all panchayat halqas.

Stressing on the speedy completion of all ongoing works, the DC instructed concerned RDD authorities to conduct a time bound survey in panchayat halqas for proper registration of households under deserving categories to avail benefits under different government schemes. 

Similarly, the Education and Social Welfare departments of Budgam were also instructed for timely assessment and execution of works, projected by locals during the B2V4 programme. On the occasion, the DC also met various local delegations who raised their demands with him.

Giving them patients hearing, the DC assured that all genuine demands shall be taken up for prompt redressal. Later, the DC also visited an under-construction sports field at Panchayat Halqa (B) to take on spot assessment of the work process.

Emphasizing on timely work execution, the DC said estimates for the drainage work be also put up and pace of work be expedited to ensure better sports facilities to the local youths.
