To the dismay of DC fans worldwide, British actor Henry Cavill announced on social media on December 15 that he would not be playing Superman once more. Following a discussion with producer Peter Safran and director James Gunn, the 39-year-old actor revealed the news. As per reports, Cavill's Superman, who was a well-known superhero in the DC universe, will appear in the upcoming Superman movie as a rising reporter.

Cavill disclosed his decision to abandon his role as Geralt of Rivia in the Netflix fantasy drama series The Witcher six days after making the announcement. "Monsters and adventures have accompanied me on my voyage as Geralt of Rivia, but unfortunately, I must put my medallion and my blades away for Season 4. The Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth will take up the White Wolf part that Cavill has already mastered in my place, the wonderful Mr. Liam Hemsworth," the actor revealed in the tweet.
