Jaspreet Singh makes surprise visit at Civil Hospital, appreciates facilities & arrangements

Asks officials to make sure repair of entering passage, restarting of Jan-Aushadi and other pending works to facilitate people

Deputy Commissioner Jaspreet Singh on Friday morning made a surprise visit to inspect the functioning at local Civil Hospital and also interacted with doctors, staff and patients to seek suggestions for improvement, where needed.

During his around one and half hour round, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by the Civil Surgeon, Medical Superintendent and other doctors, inspected and emergency ward, Krsnaa 24X7 diagnostic Center, blood bank, burn ward unit, trauma Center, testing laboratory, mother  & child centre, SNCU ward. 

Jaspreet Singh also directed the officials to immediately take up petty building & road works inside the hospital premises. He also took stock of proposed Critical Care Centre to be constructed in the premises Civil Surgeon office. 

The medical superintendent apprised that the 470-bedded hospital had all major facilities including dialysis, trauma ward, 24X7 gynae OT, minor/major OTs etc.The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the sanitation arrangements besides imparting quality treatment to people in different wards by the team of expert doctors.

Visiting trauma Centre, Jaspreet Singh also asked the concerned to accomplish the remaining works so as to expand the ambit of trauma facility to patients. He also directed the officials of Punjab Health System Corporation to make sure repair of the hospital entering passage without any delay. 

The Deputy Commissioner also went to physiotherapy Centre and given directions to extend the benefit of the facility to maximum people. Taking round of thalassaemia ward, the Deputy Commissioner also interacted with the doctors and staff at blood bank. 

He also informed that the Jan Aushadi would also be restarted shortly to facilitate general public by providing generic medicines.Civil Surgeon Dr. Raman Sharma, Medical Superintendent Dr. Rajiv Sharma, Senior Medical Officers Dr. Surjit Singh & Dr Gurmit Singh were also present.
