Deputy Commissioner cum District Collector Mr. Vishesh sarangal has ordered the revenue officials to dispose off the pending 1683 mutation cases especially 6 months old cases in a time bound manner.Chairing a review meeting of revenue works here today, Mr. Sarangal asked the officials to ensure that the cases under their judicial capacity must be disposed off in speedy manner so that justice may be delivered to the people in an easy manner.

Taking serious note of delay in recovery in revenue cases, Deputy Commissioner asked the official to ensure the collection of revenue recovery in a week to avoid any loss to the state treasury.It may be mentioned here that in Kapurthala district pending revenue recoveries are worth Rs. 1.18 crore in Kapurthala Tehsil  , Phagwara has 33 lakh, Sultanpur Lodhi 15 lakh and 48 lakh at Bholath.

He further asked the SDMs to personally monitor the collection of revenue recoveries on weekly basis as the financial loss to the treasury not to be tolerated in any case. Mr. Sarangal also asked the officials to take strict action against the wilful  defaulters besides making adverse entries in the revenue record of concerned persons.

He said that the mutation cases where concerned parties agreed must be addressed immediately so that further litigation may be avoided.Mr Sarangal said that inspection of at least 50 % revenue record must be done in a month so that more transparency and accountability to be ensured in revenue departments working.

Prominent amongst present in the meeting included ADC Phagwara Dr Nayan Jassal, SDM sultanpur lodhi Chandra Jyoti , SDM kapurthala Lal Bishwash Bains, assistant commissioner Upinderjit kaur brar and all Tehsildar’s and Naib tehsildar of the district.
