GDC Rambarh organises students’ visit to Shri Gurudwara Sahib Raika

Department of Punjabi, in collaboration with Yuva Tourism Club of Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a one day visit of students to Shri Gurudwara Sahib, Raika (Swankha). The  event was organized under  guidance and co-ordination of Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur, Principal of the College.

 The management committee of Shri Gurudwara Sahib Ji, Raika viz. S. Malkiat Singh, Pradhan; S. Gurjeet Singh, secretary; S. Darshan Singh, Chairman; S. Rajinder Singh, Cashier; S. Gaar Singh, Head Granthi arranged and conducted the event in a planned manner. 

Sermons were delivered by Baba Gaar Singh, Head Granthi. S. Malkiat Singh, Pradhan Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee Raika appreciated the visit of GDC Ramgarh and threw light on the life and teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. S. Pritipal Singh enlightened the students to be a part of religious practices along with academics.

A number of religious activities were performed during this visit like Kirtan Darbar, paying tribute to Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Listen & Contemplate the precepts & preaching’s of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Community Kitchen Service (Langer Sewa).

A large number of students participated in the Kirtan Darbar with great enthusiasm and fervor. Jaswant Kour Sem-I, Gurjeet Kour Sem-I; Malkeet Kour Sem-III & Inderjeet Kour Sem-III recited ‘Shabad’ with great devotion. 

Jagmeet Kour Sem-I and Malkeet Kour Sem-III spoke on the life and teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Satinder Kaur advised the students to inculcate spiritual values that would in turn lead them to righteous person as well as society. 

She also encouraged the students to take part in constructive activities like sports and choose life not drugs. She enlightened that in the holy book, Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Guru Nanak says: “Accept all humans as your equals, and let them be your only sect.” 

She emphasized that no person can be above any other person, all are a part of creation and all are equally close to God. Principal of the college also appreciated the efforts of Prof. Risha Kumari for organizing the visit.

The other faculty members who accompanied the visit were Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Prof. Seema Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kumar & Dr. Shamsher Lal.
