In continuation to the weekly public outreach programme, District Administration Doda today resolved several public issues and addressed individual and community grievances under the aegis of Block Diwas meetings held at the  designated locations.   

Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan, SSP,  Abdul Qayoom, District heads of the line departments  conducted the public outreach programmes across the district to listen to the issues of public and the PRIs.

This Wednesday Block Diwas program was held at Panchayat Champal of Sub Division Gandoh, Panchayat Ghar Kuthyara of Sub Division Assar, Panchayat Guraka of Sub District Bhaderwah and Higher Secondary School Malano, Kahara of Sub Division Thathri.

Deputy Commissioner along with SSP and other district heads took stock of public grievances at Panchayat Malano, Kahara. They also interacted with students and staff of Government Higher Secondary School Malanoo.

The public of Malanoo and adjoining areas participated in the block Diwas  with enthusiasm. The DC told the students to keep the school neat and clean and urged them to stay vigilant against menace of the  drugs.

The DC also inspected the conduct of online classes in the school and urged the students to work hard to achieve their dreams.The DC along with SSP, BDC Chairperson Kahara, Fatima Farooq, SDM Thathri Athar Amin Zargar and ACD Doda Phulail Singh inaugurated a newly constructed Community Hall at Panchayat Goila of Kahara Block. 

They also conducted a tree plantation drive at Kahara Block under the Go Green initiative.The DC interacted with PRIs and the public. A number of demands/grievances were put forth by the PRIs and general public. 

On the spot directions were issued for the time bound redressal of the genuine demands.Later, the DC and SSP and other officers inspected the local varieties of vegetables and pulses grown by local farmers.

They also interacted with farmers associated with Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry. The DC advised them to shift to high yield variety crops and high density and improved variety of fruit trees under the technical guidance of experts from the concerned departments. 

DC reiterated that Agriculture and Horticulture has great potential in the area which must be tapped for general prosperity of the area. He also asked public to participate in Swach Gaon Sunder Gaon initiative and Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyaan.

The DC was accompanied by SSP Doda, SDM Thathri, ACD Doda, SE PWD, SE PMGSY, CMO Doda, CEO Doda, CAO Doda, DSHO, CAHO Doda, PRIs and other district and sectoral officers.At other designated locations, the day long Block Diwas proceedings also witnessed Grievances redressal camps and other services.

The Public and PRIs put forth a range of issues/ demands. They demanded augmentation of water supply and electricity, macadamization of roads, completion and augmentation of road infrastructure, meeting dearth of staff in schools and hospitals, upgradation of schools, banking facilities in rural areas, release of pending wages under MGNREGA etc.

The Presiding officers of the Block Diwas gave patient hearing to the issues and demands and directed the concerned officers to prepare a list of issues/grievances raised pertaining to their departments and resolve the same at an earliest.
