To enable the Scheduled Tribes and other eligible forest dwellers to avail the benefits of Forest Rights Act, 2006, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Harbans Lal Sharma, who is also the Chairman of Sub-Division Level, Forest Rights Act Committee, convened a Committee meeting here today.
DFO Ramban, Dr. Rajan Singh, Sub-Divisional and Panchayat Level Committee members and other stakeholders attended the meeting.After threadbare discussion on issues pertaining to the Forest Right Act, the ADC asked the Panchayat level committees to recommend the cases which included one individual and one community rights claim to District Level, Forest Rights Act Committee for prior approval, to grant forest rights to the claimants.
