The “Janjatiya Gaurav Divas” was observed across Samba District to mark the birth anniversary of iconic tribal leader Birsa Munda, who fearlessly fought for the freedom of India.District Administration Samba, in collaboration with Tribal Affairs Department, celebrated Jan Jatiya Gourav Divas to honour the tribal freedom fighter here at  Thandi Khui Vijaypur.

Chairman District Development Council Samba, Keshav Dutt Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.Among others present in the function included District Development Council members Suriya Begum, Shilpa Dubey, ADC Suram Chand Sharma, District Tribal Officer, DIO, CDPO, CEO besides prominent persons of tribal community participated in the function.

During the day a series of activities which included singing of patriotic songs, Gujjar folklore, Gojri mushairas, speeches and other activities were organised.Later, the certificates were also distributed among the participants and special invites.

The Janjatiya Gourav Divas celebrations were also held at middle school Keuli, Middle School Bari Khad, Panchayat Papad Avtara and Panchayat Ghar Sumb.
